Florian Bataille from Biot, crowned French FSGT senior cycling champion last July, was seriously injured during a training session in early September. Hit by a vehicle, he sustained a dislocated shoulder and a fractured clavicle, necessitating a long rehabilitation period.

A member of the Ceramica Vélo Sprint Biotois club, he had won the national title in Selongey (Côte-d'Or), thus achieving his major season objective. "Last year, I finished second and I wanted my revenge," the young rider stated after his victory. He managed the race well, attacking on the final climb to win in a sprint.
Unfortunately, his promising season was abruptly cut short in early September. Victim of an accident while training, Florian Bataille suffered a shoulder dislocation with ligament tears and a fractured clavicle. This injury will keep him away from the velodrome for an estimated four to six months.

Despite this setback, the cyclist remains combative and determined to return to competition. "We knew he was going to win the title. I had tears in my eyes seeing him on the podium," confided Olivier Delaye, president of the Ceramica Vélo Sprint Biotois club. He added that the entire club was affected by Florian's accident but was counting on his swift recovery for him to defend his title in 2027.
