The Cannes Lérins Agglomeration presented an annual progress report on its flood prevention actions. Committed to this cause since 2018 with its Flood Prevention Action Program (PAPI), it represents over 150 million euros in investments to bolster the protection of residents and their property.
In this context, David Lisnard announced the start of construction for the Carimaï stormwater retention basin. This structure, located between Cannes and Le Cannet on a renatured site, will have a storage capacity of 70,000 m³ of water.
Work on this major project, aimed at better protecting the area against heavy rainfall events, will begin in October, with commissioning scheduled for late 2028.
