Due to the deterioration of monitored indicators, the Prefect of Alpes-Maritimes has placed the municipality of Saint-Paul-de-Vence in a drought crisis stage until October 31, 2026. This measure aims to preserve water resources.
Water restrictions now apply to all users: individuals, businesses, and local authorities. It is strictly forbidden to water green spaces and vegetable gardens, except for young trees and shrubs planted in the ground for less than 3 years and vegetable gardens equipped with drip irrigation, for which watering is permitted only between 8 AM and 8 PM.
Washing vehicles is also prohibited outside of specialized car wash centers. Cleaning of roads, sidewalks, terraces, facades, and roofs is forbidden, unless for sanitary or safety reasons.
Furthermore, it is prohibited to fill or top up private swimming pools, basins, or ponds. Public and private fountains must be closed, unless they operate on a closed-loop system or with a push-button system.
