The foundation stone for the Mas de Nans Health Center, located in the northern area of Arles, was laid on October 14. This new medical facility will open its doors at the end of 2027.

The project for the Mas de Nans Health Center, set to open at the end of 2027 in the northern district of Arles, saw its foundation stone laid on October 14. This building will house medical practices, a radiology center, and a pharmacy.
The history of this project is linked to the family of René Berthomieu, who arrived in the region in the 1960s. It is under the windows of the house he built that the new center will take shape, conceived by his son Serge and his associate Pierre-Marie David.
At the foundation stone ceremony, granddaughter Maëlys Berthomieu and great-granddaughter Olga spoke alongside the mayor of Arles, Patrick de Carolis, to discuss this family project that had been in development for three years.
"I took my first steps here, and tomorrow, Arles women will be seen here preparing for childbirth, undergoing MRIs, and receiving treatment," said an emotional Maëlys Berthomieu, in the presence of her grandfather René Berthomieu, aged 90 and a half.
Spanning three levels and 2500 m², the Mas de Nans Health Center will accommodate offices for doctors, midwives, and psychomotor therapists, a radiology center, and a pharmacy.
Patrick de Carolis emphasized that "health is a priority for the municipality" and that this project represents "a precious tool in the face of the medical desert."
