The third quarter of 2026 is marked by a rapid increase in sales of electric or hydrogen passenger cars. In September 2026 , these sales nearly matched those of gasoline cars, whose share of the total declined in the third quarter. The share of electric vehicles reached 43% in September 2026 , up from 25% in September 2025, an unprecedented level.
This trend is attributed to the rise in gasoline prices and the implementation, on July 1, 2026 , of the « Electric Passenger Vehicle Boost » incentive.
