The DREETS Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur is publishing a set of key socio-economic indicators for the region, which are regularly updated. This data, available at national, regional, and departmental levels, provides a detailed overview of the economic and employment situation.
Regarding the unemployment rate, the latest available data for Q2 2026 stands at 8.7%, a slight increase of 0.1 percentage points compared to the previous quarter. Figures also show the evolution of the number of job seekers. In Q1 2026, categories A, B, C recorded 470,520 registered individuals, a decrease of 0.6% compared to Q4 2025.
Total salaried employment, including temporary work, reached 2,029,955 people in Q2 2026, showing a growth of 0.1%. Agency-based temporary work amounted to 51,385 people during the same period (+0.9%).
The report also details integration and support schemes. At the end of February 2026, Contractualized pathways for employment support (Pacea) involved 18,921 individuals (+38.1% compared to the end of February 2025), while the Youth Engagement Contract (CEJ) had 12,196 young people (+2.6%). Apprenticeship contracts stood at 71,313 at the end of March 2026.
Data on social benefits indicate that 139,630 households received the Active Solidarity Income (RSA) in Q1 2026 (-0.3% year-on-year). The Allowance for Disabled Adults (AAH) had 102,140 beneficiaries (+1.8%), and the Activity Bonus (PA) covered 379,930 households (-1.3%).
In terms of business creation, the region recorded 30,434 new businesses in Q1 2026 (+3.7% compared to Q4 2025). Concurrently, business failures decreased by 2.0% year-on-year, totaling 6,488 cases in the cumulative year up to Q1 2026.
