From October 5th to 9th, a prospecting mission led by risingSUD in Tokyo and Yokohama aimed to promote the excellence of the South region's health ecosystem and reinforce bridges with Japan. This initiative comes at a time when innovation, digitalization, and openness to international investment are key economic challenges for Japan, facing a growing aging population.
In Tokyo, the Healthcare Business Leaders Forum, organized by the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan, provided a platform to discuss major transformations in the health sector: artificial intelligence, health data, innovation, digitalization, and demographic shifts. Experts from the South region presented its strengths, talents, and innovative capacity, highlighting the 2025 funding rounds to support health innovation. Regional events such as BioFIT (late 2026), the SKIN Excellence Summit, and the SilverEco.org festival (2027) were promoted to foster international connections.
The mission continued in Yokohama at BIO Japan, targeting Japanese companies expanding internationally and seeking new development opportunities in Europe. The South region was presented as a strategic gateway. The presence in Japan also served to showcase innovative local companies. VECT-HORUS S.A.S. and SYNCROSOME (specializing in preclinical cardiology within ETAP-LAB) were selected to participate in the « Biotech and Pharma / Life Sciences Hub » partnership conference in Osaka, an initiative supported by risingSUD.
This mission aligns with risingSUD's strategy to enhance the international reach of the region's excellent sectors, attract new investors, and foster connections. The complementarities between the Japanese and regional ecosystems open new perspectives for technological, economic, and scientific collaborations, accelerating the international development of South region companies.
