The Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis is launching a new consultation phase for the development of the Intercommunal Local Urban Plan (PLUi) Istres Ouest Provence, open until Spring 2027.

The Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis is continuing the development of the Intercommunal Local Urban Plan (PLUi) Istres Ouest Provence, and invites residents to participate in the consultation, which is open until Spring 2027. A public meeting is scheduled for November 25th at 6 PM at the town hall of Grans.
The concerned territory includes six municipalities: Cornillon-Confoux, Fos-sur-Mer, Grans, Istres, Miramas, and Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône.
A revised version of the Project for Sustainable Development and Planning (PADD) has been prepared to better address the territory's current challenges, following an initial presentation in April and May 2025. This new version is now being presented as part of a new public consultation phase.
Several public meetings are organized to present the revised PADD project:
The future PLUi will define the land use and development rules for the entire territory, based on five main objectives: reconciling urban development and job creation while limiting urban sprawl, supporting the evolution of activity zones through environmental and energy transitions, organizing mobility in line with economic development, preserving natural resources and anticipating risks, and improving the quality of life and valuing local services and spaces.
Residents can consult the project documents and submit their observations throughout the consultation period: via the online consultation register, by email, on paper registers available in the town halls, or by postal mail to the Metropolis.
Following the consultation, a summary will be compiled before proceeding with the public inquiry, scheduled for 2027.
