A brand-new park-and-ride facility has been inaugurated at Place de la Gare in La Bâtie-Neuve. Designed to meet residents' needs, it offers 24 parking spaces, including one for PRM (Persons with Reduced Mobility). Some spaces feature permeable paving to better absorb rainwater. The work, which included road demolition, earthworks, creation of pedestrian paths and new sidewalks, and the installation of electric charging stations, is officially completed. Landscaping is still to be finalized. This project, led by the CCSPVA with support from the Town Hall of La Bâtie-Neuve, represents a total investment of €77,465 excluding tax, with 50% support from the Région Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur.
By the end of November, a second park-and-ride facility will be operational in Montgardin. As part of the development of the future Maison de Pays de Montgardin, a 21-space carpooling area will be created north of the new building. Several electric charging stations will also be installed there. The work was awarded to ANDRÉ TP for an amount of €150,479 excluding tax. This project receives 50% support from the Région Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and 30% from the State via the Fonds Vert.
These new infrastructures aim to encourage the combination of carpooling and public transport. Users can now park their vehicles at the La Bâtie-Neuve park-and-ride facility and take a Zou ! bus to Gap or Embrun. The Zou ! transport service on the local line 530 has been enhanced since September 1, 2026, now connecting Gap, Chorges, and Embrun. This service, priced at €2.20 per trip (or €1.50 with the Zou Malin card), operates from Monday to Saturday with up to 12 round trips per day, from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
