Workplace risk prevention officers from the South PACA region convened in La Crau on September 17th to exchange experiences and share initiatives for public bodies.

For the first time since the health crisis, the Agents Responsible for the Inspection Function (ACFI) from the Management Centers of the South PACA region met on September 17th in La Crau. The primary goal was to discuss feedback from each institution and share initiatives implemented for local authorities and public establishments concerning workplace risk prevention.
Initiated by the Management Center of the Var, this day allowed regional ACFI to cover various topics including interventions, training, psychosocial risks, mental health, road safety awareness, and fire risks. Thomas Mahe, an ACFI at the Management Center of the Alpes-Maritimes, highlighted the value of these discussions: "Prevention services each have their own organization and different methods. It is therefore necessary to see and understand how our colleagues in other CDGs work." Sophie Bouchard, head of the hygiene and safety department at CDG 06, added: "We rarely have the opportunity to harmonize our practices. This day is a privileged moment for common reasoning, especially on inspection procedures. Finally, meeting our colleagues is also a form of support for everyone. We need it."
ACFI missions have significantly evolved in recent years, particularly after the Covid-19 crisis in 2020. "Mental health is one such area," noted Thomas Mahe. "We are increasingly called upon to intervene on this subject." The recurring heatwaves also pose a major challenge, compelling local authorities and public institutions to adapt. Maëlle Montigon, an ACFI at CDG 84, recalled that "the Vaucluse department is particularly affected by extreme heat," impacting both outdoor technical teams and administrative staff working in old, poorly adapted buildings. Measures such as building insulation, adjusted working hours, or the installation of blinds are now essential.
Addiction issues, especially those related to alcohol, are increasingly bringing ACFI into play. "Local authorities are contacting us more and more, particularly regarding the procedures to implement," explained Maëlle Montigon. In response, a symposium on managing the risk of alcohol consumption at work will be organized for inter-municipal bodies.
On a technical level, establishing regulatory procedures is crucial. Franck Dal Pan, head of the Risk Prevention department at CDG 83, emphasized the importance of discussing convention models with local authorities and the daily use of software tools to effectively carry out their missions.
