The official kickoff for Octobre Rose took place in Pierrefeu-du-Var, with a first weekend dedicated to solidarity and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. On Saturday, October 3rd, several activities enlivened the day, bringing together many participants for this cause that mobilizes the town each year.
At the Marcel Laugier pétanque court, the « Octobre Rose » pétanque competition, organized in partnership with the association Lei Rima, was a great success with 74 teams registered, totaling 148 participants. This sporting and convivial event combined the pleasure of the game with solidarity, as highlighted by Martine Marcel, deputy mayor, and Patrick Martinelli, mayor.
The evening continued at the Espace culturel Jean Vilar with a performance of the play « Et pendant ce temps, Simone veille ! », performed by the Compagnie Anagram Théâtre. The show was sold out, once again demonstrating the public's interest in the cultural and solidarity events offered in Pierrefeu.
This first weekend kicks off a month of activities that will continue until October 24th. Octobre Rose serves as an opportunity to emphasize the importance of breast cancer screening and to raise broad awareness about the disease, while fostering moments of sharing and solidarity.
