“"Sincere citizen participation is an important commitment of our project, it has its own delegation to allow it to be carried out according to clear principles and frank methods. Its mission is to foster democratic participation in Lauris, to propose mechanisms, methods and experiments (…) It must allow us to hear both those who approve our projects and those who contest them, those who propose something else, or those we usually never hear."

The Municipality of Lauris has issued a call for applications for its three new extra-municipal commissions, aiming to enhance citizen participation in the town's future projects. Volunteers, associations, and socio-professional actors have until November 15, 2026, to apply.
In line with Municipal Council resolutions, the Municipality of Lauris has established three extra-municipal commissions: the Long-Term Commission, the Daily Peace and Security Committee, and the Gardens Commission. These consultative bodies serve as spaces for dialogue, proposals, and co-construction, open to citizens wishing to engage in local life.
The Long-Term Commission will focus on future strategic choices, municipal policies, and sustainability. The Daily Peace and Security Committee will address quality of life, prevention of incivilities, and public space safety. The Gardens Commission will be dedicated to greening projects within the town.
Eligible candidates include willing residents, relevant local associations, and socio-professional actors. Each commission will comprise three colleges: elected officials, associations/socio-professional actors, and volunteer residents, with 5 to 10 members per college. Members will be appointed by the Mayor for the remainder of the municipal term.
Applications, including a brief statement of motivation, should be sent via email to communication@lauris.fr or by mail to Mairie de Lauris, 20 avenue Joseph Garnier, 84360 Lauris, by November 15, 2026.
