For twenty years, the Digne-les-Bains media library has been a major cultural hub, promoting access to culture, information, and knowledge. Now part of the public reading network of Provence Alpes Agglomération, it is organizing a special day to mark this milestone.
The program for this festive day will feature an exhibition tracing the library's history through photographs and archives. Visitors can also explore the ancient collections, from old books to artist's books, by registration.
Various activities are planned, including the photo contest "Corpus Libris", a piano-voice concert with students from the Departmental Conservatory, a musical blind test, and cyanotype workshops for creating bookmarks, open to those aged 7 and over upon registration.
The day will continue with a literary quiz, a storytelling performance titled "Our Tales Are Beautiful Stories" by the company He le’ale’a featuring storyteller Niamar Ndour, accompanied by kora, percussion, and kalimba, for ages 5 and up.
The celebration will conclude with a concert by the acoustic pop-folk duo Blue Flowers, who will reinterpret major French and international hits, followed by a karaoke session. A toast of friendship is also scheduled at 12 PM in the presence of elected officials.
