The Alpes-Maritimes Department is developing a cycling policy to facilitate travel to the Sophia Antipolis technology park, which employs over 38,000 people.

A project to develop a bidirectional cycle path of nearly one kilometer is underway between Antibes and Biot, connecting the Noria and Source Romaine roundabouts. This route, heavily used by cars and trucks, will benefit cyclists for their daily commutes.
The aim of this development is to enhance safety for cycling, ease daily journeys between Antibes, Biot, and Sophia Antipolis, and encourage soft mobility as an alternative to cars. It also seeks to reduce pollution and traffic congestion, thereby improving residents' quality of life.
The total estimated cost for this project is €624,166.63 excluding tax. It is financed by 70% from European FEDER aid (€436,916.64) under the 2021-2027 regional operational program, and 30% by self-financing (€187,249.99).
