The Municipality of Mougins has initiated a procedure to request recognition of a natural disaster status due to soil drought phenomena that occurred in 2026.

The decision to recognize a state of natural disaster for an exceptional climatic event rests with an inter-ministerial commission. This commission notably assesses the abnormal intensity of the natural agent. Applications for soil drought phenomena from year N are studied by this commission in mid-year N+1.
In this context, the Municipality of Mougins plans to seek recognition of the state of natural disaster due to drought for the year 2026 from the state services. To support this request, the Municipality wishes to identify property owners whose homes located within the communal territory have been affected by damage that appeared during 2026.
As such, residents of the Municipality are invited to submit a declaration of their damages, including the address of the affected property, by email to juridique@villedemougins.com or by mail to: Mairie de Mougins – Service juridique – 72, Chemin de l’Horizon - 06250 Mougins.
Finally, each affected individual is encouraged to proceed with a declaration to their insurer without delay.
