This exercise, organized in collaboration with the Prefecture of Alpes-Maritimes, the SMIAGE, and the company Predict, mobilized a wide range of crisis management actors. Present were the SDIS (fire department), the Health Agency (ARS 06), the Municipal Police, the Gendarmerie, the Departmental Council, the National Education, and the ADRASEC (Departmental Association of Radio Amateurs for Civil Security).
The objective was to test the teams' systems and coordination in realistic conditions, simulating a rainy and stormy episode inspired by historical events. The exercise allowed for work on the progressive activation of Communal and Inter-communal Safeguard Plans (PCS/PICS) for flood management, as well as on various communication and alert methods for the population.
In Breil-sur-Roya, the municipality deployed its new communal crisis kit for the first time. This kit includes communication tools, support materials for the population, and specific equipment for crisis management. These resources, co-financed by the European Union under the GIRN-Alpes program, enhance local capabilities thanks to the expertise of the syndicate's hydrometeorological engineers.
As part of the exercise, temporary flood barriers were also deployed to protect the town's historic center and its economic and heritage assets. This drill underscores the importance of anticipation and preparation for heavy rainfall and stormy phenomena, which are common in the autumn period.
