The Municipality of Valbonne Sophia Antipolis has launched a call for projects to rehabilitate the Moulin des Moines, located in the Brague valley, to establish it as a House of Arts and Crafts.

Situated in an exceptional natural and heritage environment, the Moulin des Moines, a remarkable element of Valbonne's communal heritage, testifies to the rural, artisanal, and cultural history that has shaped the territory over centuries. The Municipality of Valbonne Sophia Antipolis is committed to preserving its heritage, notably through the restoration of the former Chalaisian abbey.
In line with this commitment, the rehabilitation of the Moulin des Moines aims to give new life to this emblematic building by dedicating it to creation, transmission, and sharing. The municipality wishes to develop a House of Arts and Crafts, a meeting place between heritage and creation, fostering the reception of artists, craftspeople, the transmission of know-how, and the promotion of local creation.
The ambition is to create a vibrant space, open to the public year-round, contributing to the village's animation and cultural influence. Projects should transform this space into a lively cultural hub, rooted in Valbonne's identity, capable of attracting a broad audience and supporting craft professions.
The municipality prioritizes welcoming artists, craftspeople, creators, artistic collectives, or cultural structures engaged in creation, production, demonstration, or transmission of skills. The project must ensure regular public opening and develop cultural mediation actions.
Candidate applications must be submitted electronically before December 15, 2026, by 12 PM, via the platform marchés sécurisés or to the email address mairie@ville-valbonne.fr if the platform cannot be used.
