The City of Villefranche-sur-Mer launched this Monday the first phase of the Octroi revitalization works, a project aimed at improving safety, facilitating pedestrian movement, and enhancing this living space.

From October 5 to November 30, 2026, this initial stage includes several improvements: optimizing the bus stop and widening the sidewalk for user comfort and safety, enlarging the forecourt to facilitate pedestrian circulation, creating two short-stay parking spots near shops, redesigning public lighting with a new luminous signature, and widening sidewalks with the planting of three trees and new green spaces.
These works represent the first phase of a larger development project that will continue in 2027. Phase 1 covers improvements up to the BPCA area and is funded by the recurring budget of the Metropolis.
Subsequent phases, starting in 2027, will include road works, such as resurfacing and the creation of a pedestrian crossing, following intervention by ENEDIS between the Hôtel Versailles and the Post Office block. Works at the BPCA are also scheduled for 2027, coordinating interventions to transform the Octroi into a more pleasant, accessible, and safer area.
