As part of preventive measures requested by the prefect, following student protests and disturbances, the City of Aix-en-Provence has implemented steps to strengthen public space security. Metropolitan waste containers located on public roads have been temporarily removed, as have the bags in public litter bins.
The aim of these measures is to limit fire risks and prevent these items from being used during potential disturbances. The City reminds residents that the usual times for putting out garbage bags in the city center remain unchanged: between 6:30 PM and 7:15 PM, Monday to Saturday. Strict adherence to this schedule is essential to avoid waste accumulation on public roads and facilitate collection.
Despite this particular context, cleaning staff remain mobilized, striving daily to maintain a clean and pleasant living environment for everyone, while facing numerous on-site challenges.
