For 2,000 years, France and Italy have been playfully arguing over who deserves the title of the most beautiful country in the world. The contest promises to be close between the two nations, each defending its strengths with eloquence, creativity, and humor.
Cultural references such as Julius Caesar and Napoleon, the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Eiffel Tower, beef bourguignon and spaghetti, Les Bleus and the Squadra Azzurra, Prada and Chanel, illustrate this historical rivalry.
It will be up to the public to decide during this event, which will take place on November 5th, in Aix-en-Provence.
Organized by the Atelier de la langue française as part of the Biennale d’Aix, admission is free, subject to availability.
