In the Griffeuille district of Arles, an immersive visit to a housing rehabilitation site was organized for job seekers. This initiative, led by the PLIE ACCM as part of Sector Weeks dedicated to building and public works, aimed to connect local companies, training organizations, and those seeking employment.
Welcomed by companies GCC and Bouygues, who hold the contract for Vilogia, participants discovered the various stages of the construction site. Company representatives presented the numerous trades involved, particularly in finishing work such as painting, tiling, plumbing, electricity, tiling, and facade renovation.
This immersion provided a better understanding of employers' expected skills and career progression opportunities in the building sector. Companies emphasized their significant recruitment needs, stating that motivated candidates have real chances of finding employment.
The visit also highlighted the building maintenance agent training offered by BTP Emploi. This 450-hour program aims to equip trainees with basic technical knowledge, safety certifications, and accreditations required for construction sites, making them immediately operational.
The meeting also promoted insertion clauses within public contracts, seen as key drivers for local residents to access employment. The Griffeuille site thus illustrates the pathways between training, professional immersion, and company recruitment needs for sustainable integration into the building trades.
This project reflects a shared ambition among elected officials, landlords, and companies: to transform major regional renovation projects into concrete opportunities for people to return to work within the ACCM.
