CCI Aix-Marseille-Provence and UIMM Alpes-Méditerranée formalized on October 16 the signing of a strategic partnership agreement until 2030, aiming to strengthen industrial sectors and meet skills needs.

Facing challenges of industrial, aeronautical, and defense sovereignty, the two organizations are joining forces to support the development of strategic sectors in the region and meet growing business needs for skills. Through this alliance, they intend to enhance the attractiveness of industrial professions, anticipate future recruitment, and support a stronger, more sovereign, and more competitive industry.
The agreement focuses on five priority actions: federating economic and industrial stakeholders, accelerating investments, decarbonizing the territory, training employees, and promoting local industry.
Starting in 2026, CCIAMP and UIMM Alpes-Méditerranée will focus their efforts on the aeronautics and defense sectors. Several concrete projects will be deployed, including the creation of a joint unit to anticipate industrial projects and analyze skills needs, as well as pooling events for these sectors.
This mobilization occurs amidst a major industrial priority, with strategic challenges such as the Marignane-Istres hub for aeronautical sovereignty, the defense sector's momentum expecting 100,000 national recruitments by 2030, and the industrialization/decarbonization efforts in Fos-Berre.
The key challenge remains skills development, adapting training, and making industrial professions attractive, which are essential for sovereignty, decarbonization, and competitiveness.
“

"We are delighted with the signing of this agreement with UIMM Alpes-Méditerranée, which reflects our shared desire to take concrete action for the industrial future of the territory. Faced with the challenges of sovereignty, reindustrialization, decarbonization, and skills, we choose collective action. By combining our strengths, sector by sector, we will make Aix-Marseille-Provence a metropolis that manufactures, trains, and counts in the competition of major global metropolises, as everything is now decided at this level and scale."

Jean-Luc Chauvin · President of the Metropolitan CCI Aix-Marseille-Provence
“

"Industrial sovereignty is built in the territories, by giving companies the means to produce, invest, and recruit, in good understanding with all stakeholders. With the CCI Aix-Marseille-Provence, we want to make the territorial collective succeed around concrete projects by uniting our forces. [...] Our priority will be to align the needs of industrialists with responses in terms of skills, training, and economic development, fully involving SMEs and subcontractors. Aeronautics, decarbonization, and defense are our initial areas of action. Our common ambition: to transform industrial opportunities into sustainable activity and jobs in the territory. We are committed to this with all our strength."
