A new public transport pricing system, effective since November 1, 2026, aims to harmonize the prices of single trips and subscriptions across the entire metropolitan network.

This reform introduces solidarity pricing, notably with an annual subscription at €20 for schoolchildren and students who are scholarship holders or beneficiaries of the Complémentaire Santé Solidaire (CSS) aged 11 to 25. Those aged 65 and over who are non-taxable or CSS beneficiaries, as well as holders of the adult disability allowance (AAH), also benefit from this reduced rate. Children under 11 continue to travel for free, with a subscription card required from age 6.
Pending the implementation of solidarity pricing based on family quotient scheduled for September 2027 for those aged 26-64, current solidarity schemes remain in place. The new urban pricing is now divided into three price levels, based on the intensity of the transport service offered in each sector.
Fare Level 1 applies to the urban sector of Marseille and its associated municipalities (Allauch, Plan-de-Cuques, Septèmes-les-Vallons) for bus, metro, and tramway services.
Fare Level 2 covers the urban sectors of Aix-en-Provence and its surroundings, Aubagne (not applicable on November 1, 2026), as well as the Est Étang area (including Marignane, Vitrolles, etc.).
Finally, Fare Level 3 concerns the sectors of Salon-de-Provence, Ouest Étang (including Martigues, Istres, Fos-sur-mer), La Ciotat, and the Côte Bleue.
