Violent storms are expected, potentially causing significant damage, particularly to light housing and temporary structures. Flooding of basements and low-lying areas may occur very rapidly.
Significant rainfall over short periods could lead to unusual flooding of streams and ditches, as well as inundations in normally flood-prone areas. There is also a risk of sewage system overflow.
Forest fires could be triggered by lightning strikes not accompanied by rain. Road traffic conditions may become difficult on secondary routes, and disruptions may affect rail transport outside of main lines. Power outages are possible.
It is advised to stay away from trees, watercourses, and low-lying areas, to move to higher ground or shelter upstairs. It is recommended not to drive on submerged roads, to avoid unnecessary travel, to stay informed about rising water levels, and to protect property exposed to wind or flooding. The use of telephones and electrical appliances should be avoided.
