This Tuesday, November 3rd, Sylvie Plunian was appointed president of the Provence Council for its third term, during a ceremony led by Martine Vassal, President of the Bouches-du-Rhône Departmental Council.

On Tuesday, November 3rd, the members of the third term of the Provence Council were installed. Martine Vassal, President of the Bouches-du-Rhône Departmental Council, appointed Sylvie Plunian as the new president of the Council.
Established on June 30, 2016, the Provence Council is a consultative body composed of volunteers from civil society. Its mission is to conduct studies and produce analyses to inform the public policies developed by the Department. During this session, the assembly was renewed by nearly 50%. "This is a new era, which will allow us to work differently on the tasks entrusted to us by the president," stated Sylvie Plunian in her investiture speech.
Sylvie Plunian, who heads two companies in Marseille, succeeds Roger Mongereau, who presided over the body for two terms. She expressed her commitment to learning from others to understand the territory and collaborate for the benefit of the community: "It is by learning from others that we can appreciate what is happening in our territory, and do things together for others."
Martine Vassal paid tribute to Sylvie Plunian, emphasizing that she "has all the qualities to coordinate all the commissions and designated individuals." The assembly also elected its three vice-presidents: Elisabeth Caruette, Valérie Carbonne, and Gérard-Michaël Bohbot.
This third term, spanning four years, will focus on three key themes: addressing artificial intelligence, environmental issues, and restoring hope and confidence in youth. Sylvie Plunian stressed the necessity of a collective approach: "We do not work in silos but in tiles, all together, and the commissions meet to present their findings and define what they propose in the final work."
The session also served as the official launch of the Provence Council's first website, developed in collaboration with the Department. This new online presence symbolically marks the beginning of this new mandate and a renewed dynamic for the Council.
