Located between Cabucelle and Gèze, the Fabriques district in Marseille is undergoing a metamorphosis, transitioning from its industrial and port past to an urban landscape reshaped by the redevelopment of former industrial sites. New streets, redesigned public spaces, and new activities are emerging alongside housing, with the goal of creating a coherent neighborhood.
The public institution Euroméditerranée plays a key role in this development project. Its missions include organizing continuities between neighborhoods, strengthening their connections, supporting the development of public spaces, and improving the quality of life. Euroméditerranée also coordinates the various operations to ensure the overall coherence of the urban project.
Specifically in the Fabriques, this transformation is evident in the evolution of the boulevard Cap Pinède–Capitaine Gèze, the strengthening of the Gèze transport hub, and the creation of new green spaces, such as the jardin des Fabriques.
The laying of the first stone for XXL 3A1 symbolizes a new phase of this transformation. It underscores the action of Euroméditerranée, which ensures that each operation contributes to the neighborhood's coherence, its openness to the city, and the improvement of its residents' quality of life.
