The Mayor of Peynier, Christian Burle, and the elected officials of the Municipal Council invite residents to gather this Monday, October 19th at 6:30 PM in front of the Town Hall to express their attachment to republican values.

Following the unacceptable violence that struck several French cities on Saturday, October 17th, and in response to the call from the Association of Mayors of France (AMF), the elected officials of Peynier will gather on Place du Château. This assembly aims to reaffirm their commitment to the values of the Republic.
The damage to public buildings, looting of shops, assaults, and attacks against law enforcement are considered intolerable infringements on the republican order, and nothing can justify such acts.
Through this gathering, the elected officials of Peynier wish to express their support for law enforcement, firefighters, and emergency services, as well as their solidarity with the shopkeepers, residents, and communities affected by this violence.
The municipality emphasizes that the freedom to protest cannot legitimize violence, and that respect for the law, republican authority, and the safety of citizens must remain intangible principles. Faced with violence, unity and determination to defend the Republic will be affirmed.
