The election of Mr. Christian Simon to the Senate on September 27th necessitates a change in leadership at the Centre de Gestion de la Fonction Publique Territoriale du Var (CDG 83). In accordance with non-cumulative mandate rules, the former president is stepping down to focus on his new parliamentary role.
While awaiting the election of a new president, Mr. Robert Bénéventi, mayor of Ollioules and first vice-president of CDG 83, is serving as interim president. This transitional period ensures the continued operation of the public institution serving the local authorities of the Var region and their agents.
Robert Bénéventi will oversee the day-to-day affairs of the Management Centre until the new president is appointed by the board of directors, no later than the end of January 2027. The president is elected by the board members from among themselves.
In the event of a presidential vacancy during a term, a new election must be organized. During this period, one of the vice-presidents assumes interim duties, allowing CDG 83 to continue its missions with affiliated municipalities, intercommunalities, and public establishments.
This transition follows the course set by Mr. Christian Simon. Under his presidency, CDG 83 has expanded its support services for the local authorities of the Var in human resources management, occupational health, territorial public employment, and statutory expertise.
While awaiting the election of the new president, Mr. Robert Bénéventi intends to fully ensure the stability and continuity of services provided to member communities.
