The 2026 massif access map designates the Centre-Var and Maures areas as being at severe fire risk. Access to these zones is discouraged, and work is regulated, permitted only between 5 AM and 1 PM, and prohibited thereafter.
For the department's seven other forest massifs, the risk is considered moderate. These include the Monts Toulonnais, the Corniche des Maures, the Îles d’Hyères, the Haut Var, the Sainte-Baume, the Plateau de Canjuers, and the Estérel.
In case of a fire outbreak, it is recommended to call 18 or 112.
