The air link between Toulon-Hyères and Paris-Orly now features reinforced schedules operated by Transavia, enabling same-day round trips on Thursdays and Fridays, a move backed by local authorities to boost the region's economy.

This winter, the Toulon-Hyères – Paris-Orly route is gaining momentum with enhanced schedules operated by Transavia. It is now possible to reach the capital in the morning and return to the Var region the same evening, on Thursdays and Fridays. This development, collectively driven by Métropole TPM, the Région Sud, the Département du Var, and the CCI du Var, aims to better connect the territory, support its economic dynamism, and strengthen its attractiveness.
For the Métropole, improving the territory's connection to the capital is a major objective, particularly to support economic development and business travel needs. During the press conference on November 4th, Josée Massi, president of Métropole TPM and mayor of Toulon, highlighted the collective mobilization and the speed with which partners achieved this new offering. She stated: « When all stakeholders work together in the same direction, it yields concrete results. » The airport's development also supports the region's economic momentum, especially in the defense and innovation sectors.
Véronique Bernardini, mayor of Hyères, noted that this new service meets a strong demand: « When you run a business and need to go to Paris for a professional meeting, you must be able to leave in the morning and return the same day. » Beyond professional travel, the airport serves as a key gateway to Hyères, the islands, the coast, and the wider Var region.
Specifically, the new Transavia schedules allow departures from Toulon-Hyères at 6:40 AM on Thursdays and Fridays. Return flights from Paris-Orly are available on Thursdays at 4:45 PM or 8:00 PM, and on Fridays at 6:10 PM. The route is operated by Transavia France daily, except Saturdays during the winter season, until March 27th. Round trips start from €130.
Manuella Goyat, secretary general of Transavia France, mentioned that these schedules directly address local expectations. The line's enhancement also aims to attract more visitors from the Paris region, with late afternoon departures from Paris on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and early Sunday evening returns, making longer weekends in the Var more feasible.
Jean-Louis Masson, president of the Département du Var, emphasized that « Facilitating direct and regular connections with the capital is an essential lever », particularly for reinforcing the strategy of year-round tourism and supporting the territory's economic and defense activities. François de Canson, president of the Région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, highlighted the collectivités's mobilization: « When we all sit down together with a common will, we can find solutions. »
For the business community, a reliable and sustainable air link to Paris is crucial for restoring business confidence and facilitating professional travel. Basil Gertis, president of the CCI du Var, summarized at the conference: « An airport is a strategic infrastructure serving a population, an economy, and a territory. » The challenge ahead will be to establish new usage patterns long-term and foster traveler loyalty.
Basma Jarbouai, director of Toulon-Hyères Airport, noted that « The ease and speed of use of Toulon-Hyères Airport allow travelers to save precious time and optimize their business trips ». Loïc Duroselle, director of Regional Airports of France at VINCI Airports, recalled the importance of consolidating this annual link with Paris.
Beyond the connection to the capital, the partners aim to strengthen the metropolitan territory's connectivity and year-round attractiveness. Collective support amounts to €100,000 per year for 3 years, totaling €300,000, supplemented by €50,000 mobilized by VINCI Airports for promotion.
