In the presence of numerous dignitaries, including Mayor Dorian Munoz, the French Wrestling and Associated Disciplines Federation, represented by its president Lise Legrand who traveled from Paris for the occasion, and Jean-Noël Bahaderian, president of the Regional Wrestling Committee, this high-level training center is the culmination of twenty years of work by the Olympique Lutte Seynois club, led by Morad Yacoub.
This is the first center in France dedicated to this emerging discipline, with beach wrestling designated as a demonstration sport for the upcoming Olympic Games. Top regional athletes and members of the French national team will participate in training camps under the guidance of Seynois coach Ghani Bendjedi, who has departed from the national technical staff.
With French national team athletes such as Sofiane Ben Boubaker, and national titles won by Amir Issayev and Zukiro Kalichava, beach wrestling is establishing itself as a strong local specialty alongside traditional wrestling.
The club hopes to host the French championships in 2027 at Les Sablettes, aiming to promote this spectacular sport, as demonstrated by the Seynois athletes during the inauguration.
