Three women from La Seyne-sur-Mer, Sandrine Macia, Jade Fornon, and Aline Boutroix, are heading to Morocco from October 22 to 26 to participate in the 8th edition of the "Rose Trip" orientation trek, a solidarity sports challenge for the fight against breast cancer.

After two years of intensive preparation, Sandrine Macia, deputy director of leisure activity centers, initiated this collective project to support associations fighting breast cancer. She convinced her colleagues, Jade Fornon, health, disability, and inclusion coordinator, and Aline Boutroix, kindergarten leisure activity center director and the group's athlete. Together, they organized numerous fundraising events, including a lottery and walks, through the inclusive Seynoise association "Palette é baskett", founded by Aline in 2011.
Their initiative also attracted the support of many local businesses in La Seyne-sur-Mer and surrounding areas, who became sponsors of the challenge. "Although initially, approaching businesses was difficult, over time we received support, often from unexpected places!", shares Sandrine, highlighting the valuable encounters that made this project possible.
The team, named "Les Gazelles en baskett", is eagerly awaiting their departure for this unique experience in Morocco. They will join teams from around the world for this distinctive orientation race. "We can't wait to leave now," expresses Aline, proud to have realized this dream with her partners.
Upon arrival on Thursday, October 22, they will head to the starting point. The next day, equipped with a compass, map, and topographic protractor, they will embark on their adventure. They are proud to support associations like "Ruban Rose" and "Jeune et Rose", which are dedicated to prevention, research, and support for those affected by breast cancer.
