Built between 1847 and 1857 to replace a 17th-century church that had collapsed, and completed with a bell tower in 1904, the current church is an architectural landmark of the old town center. Beyond its religious purpose, it is an essential element of the communal heritage, testifying to the craftsmanship of 19th-century builders and contributing to the town's cultural and tourist appeal.
Diagnoses have revealed significant issues affecting the roof, the framework, and several structural elements. The first phase of work includes repairing the roofing, reinforcing the framework, addressing water infiltration, and restoring degraded vaults, as well as necessary asbestos removal operations. These interventions are crucial for the building's safety and reopening.
The Municipality, the Association for the Restoration of the Beausset Church (AREB), and the Fondation du Patrimoine have launched a fundraising campaign. This initiative targets residents, associations, businesses, and heritage enthusiasts to help finance the preservation of this historic monument, a place of collective memory and local identity.
