Ahmad Dabaja, a doctoral student, and Rachid Elazouzi, a university professor, both from the Avignon Informatics Laboratory (LIA), received the Best Paper Award at the international conference IEEE FLTA 2026, held in Paris from October 27 to 30.

On October 29, Ahmad Dabaja presented their paper titled "Joint Client Scheduling and Resource Allocation for Optimal Federated Learning over Wireless Networks", co-authored with Rachid Elazouzi. Their work was recognized by the conference jury and awarded a prize by NVIDIA.
Their research focuses on Federated Learning, an artificial intelligence approach that trains models using data distributed across multiple devices without centralizing personal data. Specifically, their study aims to optimize this learning process in wireless networks by examining how to select participating devices and efficiently allocate computing and communication resources to enhance system performance.
This international distinction for LIA also allowed Ahmad Dabaja to engage with researchers worldwide and explore new scientific collaborations. It highlights the quality of the laboratory's work and contributes to its international scientific recognition.
