In response to protest calls announced for this Saturday, October 24th, and following disturbances that occurred last weekend, the City of Aix-en-Provence has decided to strengthen security measures in its city center.
By municipal decree, the circulation of all two-wheeled vehicles (motorized or not), as well as motorized personal mobility devices (MPMDs), will be prohibited on all streets and squares within the pedestrian zone. This ban will be effective on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 0:00 to 23:59.
This measure aims to prevent risky situations, facilitate pedestrian movement, and allow for the rapid intervention of security and rescue services if necessary. It specifically concerns motorcycles, scooters, bicycles, and electric scooters.
The City reminds everyone that the safety of all is its priority and calls for responsibility and vigilance from everyone.
