The 'Sept' addiction center, part of the Addiction Méditerranée association and France's first Centre for Addiction Care, Support, and Prevention (CSAPA), is celebrating its 20th anniversary in Aubagne.

Open to anyone questioning their use of psychoactive substances (tobacco, cannabis, alcohol, cocaine, medication…) or potential behavioral dependencies (gambling, video games…), the center welcomes between 600 and 700 people annually. Its specialized multidisciplinary team includes doctors, nurses, a midwife, psychologists, social workers, a secretary, and a health mediator.
Support is free, confidential, and anonymous. Interviews are also offered to relatives of individuals struggling with addiction. Over the past two decades, the service has expanded its care offerings, including HIV and Hepatitis C screening, a monthly support group for family members, a gynecology consultation, and the Youth Consumer Consultation (CJC) for ages 12-25.
The Youth Consumer Consultation (CJC) was specifically designed for young people beginning to experience problematic substance use or questioning their habits. Last year, 150 young people received care. Clinical psychologist Johan Bonnefond emphasizes the importance of early identification of risk factors to prevent addiction.
The center actively participates in national prevention campaigns and partners with local initiatives such as 'Octobre rose' (Pink October), 'Moi(s) sans tabac' (No Tobacco Month) in November, the Day to Combat Discrimination or Violence Against Women, World AIDS Day, Dry January, as well as the youth rally and the Youth Addictions Sport Health (JASS) program.
