Residents of the Alpilles can once again benefit from free compost distribution in October 2026. Dedicated days will be held at the waste facilities in Saint-Étienne-du-Grès and Maussane-Paradou.

Composting is making a comeback in the region with several free distribution days scheduled for October 2026. The waste facilities in Saint-Étienne-du-Grès and Sud Alpilles in Maussane-Paradou will welcome residents wishing to collect compost. This initiative aims to encourage the valorization of organic waste at home.
Participants are invited to bring their own containers, such as a large bucket or garden bag, to transport the compost. Additionally, compost bins will be available for purchase for those who wish to start or continue composting at home.
The distribution will take place over four days. At the Saint-Étienne-du-Grès waste facility, the dates are Friday, October 16, and Saturday, October 17, 2026. The Sud Alpilles – Maussane-Paradou facility will host these days on Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24, 2026. Compost distribution hours will be from 8 AM to 12 PM and from 2 PM to 4:30 PM each day.
For compost bin purchases, two sizes will be offered: 150 liters or 400 liters. Bins will be provided for a check of 15 euros payable to the Public Treasury. The hours for collecting compost bins are specific: only from 8 AM to 12 PM during the four concerned days.
Composting is a simple and ecological action that transforms food scraps, certain food waste, and garden waste into a useful material for gardens. These days represent an excellent opportunity to get equipped and adopt this sustainable practice.
