The Sainte-Victoire fire and rescue center, part of the Pompiers13, officially moved into its new premises on April 28, 2026, marking a significant milestone for the organization.
This new infrastructure, more modern and functional, is designed to meet current operational demands. It provides the teams with better working conditions and an enhanced intervention capacity to serve the public, while also serving as a valuable setting for training.
From October 2 to 11, 2026, twelve trainees from the eastern group of Pompiers13, representing various fire and rescue centers (Aix-La Chevalière, Aix-La Torse, Luynes, Gardanne, Fuveau, and Sainte-Victoire), participated in a Level 1 Forest Fire (FDF1) training course. Pedagogical and logistical supervision was provided by the new station's personnel.
Located immediately adjacent to the DFCI trailheads, the center allows for rapid access to maneuver areas and dedicates more time to training by minimizing road travel. Trainees were able to train in the exceptional setting of the Sainte-Victoire massif, also utilizing the CFD's technical facilities.

"Starting from Costes Chaudes, the trainees advanced towards the ridges, reaching the Pas de l’Escalette in the Sainte-Victoire mountain range. A 540-meter exercise allowed us to test their ability to work collectively on difficult terrain, emphasizing group cohesion."
“
"It was a great experience for our Pompiers13. Hosting this first FDF1 course sets a direction for the rescue center: a functional tool close to the field, dedicated to training and operational readiness."
