The City Hall of Port-de-Bouc has activated its Municipal Emergency Plan (PCS) due to severe weather affecting the commune. The town hall has also experienced internet and telephone outages, leading to the establishment of a dedicated emergency number: 06 22 44 58 99.
Municipal services are fully mobilized to ensure everyone's safety and monitor the evolving situation. Safety instructions and useful information will be regularly communicated through official channels and the IntraMuros application. Residents are urged to remain vigilant, follow safety guidelines, facilitate access for firefighters, and pay close attention to information disseminated by the City.
The Youri Gagarine hall is open to accommodate affected residents, offering shelter with coffee and camp beds. As a safety measure, it is advised to cut off electricity if it can be done safely, and never touch electrical installations in the presence of water.
Educational facilities Rambaldi (collective daycare) and Lucie Aubrac (leisure center) are closed due to flooding. Municipal agents are working on sewer outlets to facilitate water evacuation, and residents are asked not to risk opening them.
Another wave of severe weather is expected this afternoon, prompting firefighters and the Prefecture to ask the public to limit travel. The commune is under yellow alert for "storms" until 6 PM and "rain-flooding" until 10 PM.
On Tuesday, October 20th, record rainfall totals were recorded, particularly in the west and north of the Etang de Berre (up to 250mm in 24 hours). Significant runoff has been observed, and rivers like the Cadière and the lower Touloubre have reacted sharply. New storm cells are expected this afternoon.
Due to violent storms, several roads and public facilities are closed. Affected roads include Route Départementale 50, Rue Henri Barbusse, Avenue Roger Salengro, Route de Saint-Mitre-les-remparts, Rue des Arcades, Boulevard Guy Mocquet, Avenue Paul Lombard, and Avenue Ambroise Croizat. Public buildings, sports facilities, and municipal outdoor spaces are also closed.
