Last week, students from CM1 to 4th grade were invited to vote in their schools to elect representatives for the new Youth Municipal Council. This election was organized with the support of the teaching staff and the Education department.
The event was also attended by Mayor Franck Bertoncini and elected officials who came to meet the young voters.
In total, 43 candidates ran in the 5 sections, and 24 young people will be elected to join this new assembly.
The results will be communicated to the candidates by email this week and then displayed in the schools upon their reopening.
This was a valuable moment of local democracy, allowing young people to concretely discover how elections work and to get involved in the life of their municipality.
