The 5th edition of the "With Our Heroes" operation was held on October 10th at the La Vaugine military camp. Organized by the Draguignan-Canjuers garrison, the day invited the public to participate in sports challenges individually, in groups, or as families. The aim was to allow participants to push their limits, help each other, and share a convivial moment through original obstacle courses.
A family village also offered recreational activities, and visitors could discover the military world through exhibitions, demonstrations, and encounters. Since 2025, this event has been awarded the label "Military Wounds & Sport Encounters" by the Ministry of Armed Forces.
The funds raised are donated to associations supporting wounded soldiers, to assist them and their families in their psychological and physical recovery. Last year, nearly €59,000 were collected.
The inauguration was attended by Richard Strambio, Mayor of Draguignan and Regional Councilor of Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Jean-Yves Fort, Municipal Councilor delegated to Relations with Defense, along with elected officials, civil and military authorities, representatives from the Military Schools of Draguignan, and the organizers.
