Since September 2026, the Environmental Brigade of Fréjus has been supported by two commissioned agents acting as field wardens, assisted by five public space surveillance agents (ASVP). This enhanced capacity strengthens the ability to identify and address environmental infractions. Intervention hours have also been extended, with the Brigade now present on the ground from 7:15 AM to 6:45 PM, Monday to Friday, and from 7 AM to 3 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. This organization is designed to better cover the most exposed areas and periods when illegal dumping is most likely to occur.
The Brigade currently utilizes three specialized detection devices and ten automatic triggering cameras installed at sensitive sites. Ten new cameras will soon be added to this system to further improve offender identification. This mobilization has resulted in a significant number of procedures: 1278 administrative procedures were initiated in 2025, compared to 768 since the beginning of 2026 up to October 6th. These figures demonstrate the daily commitment of the Environmental Brigade and the progressive strengthening of the system to combat illegal dumping.
Beyond illegal dumping, the City is broadly continuing its action against uncivil behavior that disrupts the daily lives of residents. Accordingly, the fine for failing to pick up dog waste, as well as for discarding cigarette butts, has increased from €35 to €135. The objective remains the same: to combine prevention, on-site presence, and sanctions when necessary, in order to sustainably preserve the quality of life for the residents of Fréjus.
