From October 2nd to 12th, the University of Toulon is celebrating the Fête de la Science with a rich program of discoveries, including interactive workshops, lab visits, and discussions with researchers.

For the Fête de la Science, themed « Saveurs savantes » (Savory Flavors), running from October 2nd to 12th, the University of Toulon is organizing several events to showcase its scientific and technical activities.
The festivities kick off on Friday, October 2nd, with the Nuit de la Science (Science Night) at the Maison de la Créativité in Toulon, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. This inaugural event in the Var department offers informal discussions over an aperitif with researchers, allowing direct engagement on diverse topics. Groups will rotate every 15 minutes to meet new scientists. Places are limited and require registration via a provided link.
On Saturday, October 3rd, and Sunday, October 4th, the Village des sciences (Science Village) will be held at the Parc de la Navale in La Seyne sur Mer. This village will feature discovery stands exploring the scientific aspects of food, from production to consumption, through interactive animations, workshops, and games. Friday, October 2nd, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, is reserved for school groups, with a departmental inauguration at 11:30 AM. On Saturday, the village is open from 10 AM to 6 PM, and on Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM. Access is free.
From Monday, October 5th, to Friday, October 9th, the University of Toulon presents « Découverte de Telomedia » at the Pi building on the Toulon-Porte d’Italie campus. This workshop, exclusively for middle schools in the Var, will immerse students in the world of audiovisual production, allowing them to experiment with visual content creation and special effects.
On Wednesday, October 7th, 2026, the « Immer’science » event will offer a scientific immersion into the university's research laboratories on the La Garde Campus. Guided tours are scheduled between 10 AM and 12 PM, and again between 2 PM and 4 PM, to explore ongoing research and equipment. Registration is required and places are limited.
A special day for schoolchildren, « L’Université de Toulon fête la science » (The University of Toulon Celebrates Science), will take place on Thursday, October 8th, from 9:00 AM to 4:15 PM on the La Garde campus. Over 500 middle and high school students are expected to discover scientific activities through workshops and conferences.
Among the activities planned for this school day are the Serious Game « Jeu de l’oie de lois » on law, the game « Impact of eco-labeling » on consumption and the environment, an animation on oceanic circulation, a workshop on DNA extraction, an exploration of management sciences, testing of research equipment in physical activity and sports, a conference on criminal justice, awareness-raising on health and environment, and a robotics discovery workshop.
Conferences will cover topics such as « La pastasciutta antifasciste », robotics and Artificial Intelligence, and the processing of communication signals for cetaceans. A photo exhibition « Regards sur la science » (Views on Science) by university researchers will also be featured.
The association « Chercheurs en Herbe » (Young Researchers) will lead activities focused on science, the environment, culture, and gardening, aiming to stimulate curiosity and awareness.
