Provence Verte is simplifying paper sorting rules starting January 1, 2027. From now on, all paper, without exception, can be placed in yellow packaging bins and containers. This change is accompanied by the gradual removal of dedicated blue bins, which will begin on October 1, 2026.
Users are advised to adopt good practices now by placing their paper in the yellow containers. To find the nearest drop-off point, a link is available: jetrieenprovenceverte.fr/ou-trouver-mes-poubelles/.
The reason for this change lies in the significant decrease in paper waste production in France, largely due to the rise of digital technology. Concurrently, the modernization of the TRIAZUR sorting center in Le Muy, managed by Pizzorno Environnement, now allows for efficient mechanical separation of paper from other recyclable packaging.
This initiative aims to improve overall collection and sorting performance in the Provence Verte region and to encourage better valorization of recyclable household waste.
