On Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 September 2026, about thirty passionate members of the Park's Education network met for two days of intensive and inspiring training focused on local water issues. This annual event was organized as part of the awareness-raising initiative on water challenges, supported and funded by the Rhône Méditerranée Corse Water Agency.
Day 1: Underground immersion in Mazaugues > Focus on the karst system of the Caramy, a tributary of the Argens. Our specialized network speakers explored an old bauxite mine, guided by experts from the Departmental Committee of Speleology and Canyoning of Bouches-du-Rhône (CDSC13). Subsequently, they tested a role-playing game designed to educate middle and high school students on sustainable water resource management.
Day 2: Along the water in Signes > A sensory hike along the Latay (tributary of the Gapeau) led the group to the famous Pont du Diable. Under the passionate guidance of Michel Salvi, participants observed Mediterranean watercourses up close: the fauna, the riparian flora, the landscape formation, and the reality of intermittent rivers in the face of climate change.
A huge THANK YOU to all for this great dynamism! These days would not have had the same flavor without the generosity and expertise of all the members present. Special thanks to Sidonie Chevrier from CDSC13 and Michel Salvi for the quality of their interventions and their generous sharing.
These field meetings are precious. They allow for strong links to be forged between local actors in territorial education and to foster future cross-curricular educational projects. Sharing keys to understanding water resources prepares tomorrow's citizens to preserve our quality of life!
