Young participants in the ERINE beekeeping school in Sanary-sur-Mer concluded their beekeeping initiation on October 14th at the Jardin des Oliviers, receiving diplomas recognized by the National Beekeeping Union.

The association Les Fées de la Ruche, in partnership with Reconnection, led this educational project since March. The apprentice beekeepers attended six sessions where they discovered the functioning of a hive, learned to recognize its inhabitants, understood the essential role of pollinators, and were introduced to honey harvesting. They were also made aware of the threats facing bees and actions to preserve biodiversity.
During the final session, the children studied hive overwintering and tested their knowledge through a quiz and a practical exercise. The official diploma ceremony, attended by Mayor Philippe Heno, their families, and project partners, marked the end of this successful initiative.
This initiative trains these young biodiversity ambassadors, who are contributing today to preserving tomorrow's environment. The City warmly thanked Les Fées de la Ruche, the association Reconnection, and all participants for their commitment.
