The Communauté de communes Aygues Ouvèze en Provence hosted the season's first company visit in Piolenc, at the tourism information and bike space. The event highlighted the work of Sandra Lemé, who specializes in organizing guided tours for people with disabilities and the elderly.
Sandra Lemé, a resident of Piolenc for 13 years and a caregiver for 25 years, established her company "Les balades du Bonheur" in May 2025. This project, born from her professional and personal experiences, offers tailored excursions for people with reduced mobility.
To meet diverse needs, Sandra Lemé utilizes an electric cargo bike capable of accommodating a wheelchair user, and an adapted vehicle with a trailer. The vehicle can transport up to six people with reduced mobility who are not wheelchair users, or three able-bodied passengers and one wheelchair user.
Requests come from both individuals and institutions, particularly retirement homes. Pricing is personalized based on the number of participants, pick-up location, distance traveled, and service type. The goal is to promote sharing, social connection, and inclusion.
Launching this venture involved several months of administrative procedures, including obtaining a transport license and completing specific training. The company gains visibility through word-of-mouth and flyers, and is currently developing a website to present indicative pricing.
The visit, attended by officials including Mr. Julien MERLE, President of the Community of Communes, Mr. Vincent Faure, Vice-President, and Mr. Sébastien PAYAN, Mayor of Piolenc, concluded with a demonstration of the electric cargo bike. This local initiative addresses accessibility and mobility challenges.
