On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the municipality of Saint-Martin-du-Var, in partnership with the association CAP-SMV, honored Alexis MAIFFREDI (1918-1957), a fighter, resistor, and builder mayor.
The morning began on Alexis Maiffredi Square with the symbolic unveiling of a commemorative plaque, attended by Mireille MAIFFREDI, his daughter.
Participants then gathered at the town hall to discover the exhibition "Alexis Maiffredi, portrait of a builder mayor", accompanied by a conference led by François BESSET.
Nearly 40 people were present to learn about the journey of this man who significantly marked the development of Saint-Martin-du-Var. Many achievements from his time are still part of the daily lives of residents.
Heritage Days in Saint-Martin-du-Var also serve to keep alive the memory of those who contributed to building the village.
The morning concluded with a shared glass of friendship at the exhibition, in a friendly atmosphere of exchanges and memories.
