The Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis is launching a new public consultation phase for its revised Intermunicipal Local Urban Plan (PLUi), concerning six communes: Cornillon-Confoux, Fos-sur-Mer, Grans, Istres, Miramas, and Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône.

Following an initial presentation in April and May 2025, the Sustainable Development and Planning Project (PADD) has been revised to better address current challenges, including industrial development, employment, and housing. This new version will be presented at public meetings in November 2026.
The public meetings will be held on the following dates: in Istres on November 12th at 6 PM, in Miramas on November 16th at 5 PM, in Cornillon-Confoux on November 18th at 5 PM, in Fos-sur-Mer on November 23rd at 6 PM, in Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône on November 24th at 6 PM, and in Grans on November 25th at 6 PM.
The future PLUi will define land use and development rules with five main objectives: reconciling urban development and job creation, supporting the environmental transitions of activity zones, organizing mobility in line with economic development, preserving natural resources and anticipating climate risks, and improving the quality of life.
Residents can consult the project documents and submit their observations via the digital register, by email (concertation-plui-istres-ouestprovence@mail.registre-numerique.fr), or on paper registers available at the town halls of the concerned communes and at the Metropolis headquarters. A summary will be prepared before a public inquiry scheduled for 2027.
