The Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis, in partnership with the SPL Énergies de Provence (Public Limited Company), is launching a photovoltaic plant project in Lamanon. The 70 kWc installation will be located on the roof of the future municipal technical center, aiming to produce local electricity for several communal buildings.

This collective self-consumption project, formalized by Christian Nervi, mayor of Lamanon, and Laurent Simon, president of SPL Énergies de Provence and vice-president of the Metropolis, marks a new step towards energy independence for the territory's municipalities. Commissioning is expected by the end of 2027.
The total investment amounts to 80,000 euros, funded by SPL Énergies de Provence with 30% support from the Department of Bouches-du-Rhône. The SPL, established in 2025 on the initiative of the Metropolis and the Department, aims to facilitate and accelerate the development of renewable energies on public property, assisting local authorities with their projects.
The Lamanon project is part of a broader initiative by the Metropolis. Other solar installations are underway or have been completed, such as in Saint-Victoret on the Odéon parking lot or in Mallemort on metropolitan land. The goal is to strengthen the territory's energy independence and cover 100% of its energy needs through renewables by 2050.
